Beware of Snakes!

I was graciously warned when moving into our house in Orlando, about "little, harmless, black snakes; mostly found in the backyard or garage." I was a bit worried about them since I have a 4.2 lb dog that loves the outdoors, but soon forgot about them. Winter has now rolled around these wonderful creatures are now gracing us with their presence. Adam found two mating on the porch- right by the "welcome mat"- I then began to worry again..... A few days later I took Reagan out in the backyard to walk around and I stepped on one (not knowing it) and I felt him slither across my ankle! I grabbed Reagan as tight as I could and RAN inside- her face was PRICELESS...and I know mine was too! I don't enjoy being outside much anymore, due to the fear of running into one again!

I know being from TX we have some pretty darn scarey snakes, but I have NEVER been in contact- who would have thought, moving to the beautiful sunshine state you would have them here! ?
